I’m in the process of writing this post so bare with me…
Scroll to bottom for overview of whole season; I’ll also post updates as the season progresses below…
•October update: Oct 31st 5-8pm will be our first drumming around the fire of the season- it will be in conjunction with drop in activities & regular class times. We will also have our first search in the tree forest. Through out the month we will have other dates for the extra drumming around the fire.
Between Summer & Fall in September to October we always do beach, ocean, sky themes with island music from around the world. In October we’ll mix in some pretend & dress up with everything from boats to castles to dinosaurs & spiders. With the opposites of high & low we’ll explore nature & for the older kids musical maps (staff) & keyboards. As we move into November we’ll explore homes & backyards for people & animals. Exploring all kinds of American folk music from different cultures. Then in Dec prepare for family & friends.
Overview for the whole season…
Lots of indoor activities at both locations and at DiscoveryMeadowStudio in Schertz/Cibolo outside activities with sensory play, arts/crafts, nature play (lots of bubbles & sand in October)
Specials will include…
•What’s hidden in the bubbles & sand in October
•Exploring the eyes in the forest in late October early Nov
•Drumming & singing & food around the fire in November
From November to January we’ll focus on the home & family with food preparation, cleaning the house, play/toys, and lights in the night.
Before our holiday break from Dec to Jan we will have an opportunity to explore with food.
At KindermusikbySally we do not do holiday specific activities. However I prepare activities are common for the seasonal weather, chores/activities that work for a variety of cultural traditions. Goal is to be welcoming to all, provide a common community while supporting each family in their own choices/culture.
Note: my Schertz/Cibolo studio is at my house and therefore has my family’s decorations up in the main house. The NewBraunfels classes at a local church will have their decorations.
