Cleaning procedures etc

Updated: Jul 28, 2021

I will continue to address the situation and share my decisions on policy changes openly as things change throughout the year.

Cleaning procedure synopsis...

Everything will be cleaned and sanitized between each class/family use- when I clean I use CDC approved cleaners and I wear a mask and gloves (although this could change as guidance changes) while doing so.

More classroom policies. Remember each location may be different, depending on the facilities rules. And things may change over time But for my home studio now it will be as follows...

*Inside limited to 4-6 families (12 people total), then eventually we’ll go to 6-8 families if things go well (and depending on facility). This summer into the fall, we’ll may be able to go to bigger groups or maskless (especially depends on variants)- this has been exhausting for all of us but I ask for patience and understanding as I evaluate what is best for my studio.

*I will have a sink outside with soap, water, paper towels for washing hands before & after class. Also available individual hand sanitizer dispense, disposable masks, bug spray for outside activities.

A quick Reminder of basic policy community risk levels.

*lower risk inside. Masks will depend on location limitations/rules, community numbers on vaccination, spread, variants, those vulnerable in class.

*low to medium risk/numbers outside in courtyard 6-8 families/groups; *medium to high risk under 6 families outside; *high risk drive-in class (6 vehicle) around the circle drive Or virtual.

My studio will be continuing with the plan I have set including a careful following of case numbers, variants, and expert (scientific) guidance on masks, distancing, and cleaning. I will continue carefully watching the data from NB, Schertz/Cibolo, and SA to make decisions on studio restrictions. And as things improve the restrictions will gradually be removed.

If you are still concerned about Adult masking, here’s a bit more...

I realize that the whole discussion of masks & vaccinations can be tense. I am not interested in creating more stress; not interested in judging someone’s choices or opinions. I do have to think about my personal vulnerabilities. And we need some basic guidelines and respect for each other. So anytime it’s possible to be within 6 feet of another family like common areas, entries, moving/exploring around, please be aware of others. I realize that with vaccinations and different opinions there may be some who doNot feel a need for masks. There are always going to be different feelings/choices, I am asking that we respect each other’s boundaries in this community.

We have a wonderfully diverse community,

I respect that each person/family will make their own decisions about risk and assessment. And I know there are a variety of concerns from illness to development to lifestyle to vaccination. I always try to carefully balance group dynamics and personal choice. I do not expect to use most specialized policies forever. However right now different locations and people have vary different needs and expectations and things change almost daily. So I am not sure when or what normal will ultimately look like- likely restrictions will change gradually through the year and depend on location needs. I do ask that you respect facility rules even if you disagree AND as always respect each other... Be understanding that small children don’t understand personal space bubbles, facial, or body cues; help your own children with modeling/redirection in respecting each other’s boundaries; privately address issues and agreements for increased contact with other members of class; be understanding that we are all human and no one is the same or perfect. We are all just trying to do the beat we can- including me.
