In class activities June 16-19

Explanations & At Home activities below…

KindermusikbySally provides in-class & at home activities designed to provide a variety of activities to support different families.

Check out posts on my social media like this one about a musical road that Bear & MisSally found…

(See more ideas by scrolling to bottom of post, see other posts, or checking out my social media platforms on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok )

In-person: From Memorial Day to Juneteenth to Independence Day there are many ways to remember, celebrate, and honor this time of year.

Our community has so many different experiences & cultures to draw. In-class we’ll be exploring traveling (especially to the city & mountains), exploring the sights & sounds of the road & parades, celebration sights & sounds with fireworks & decorations, and of course lots of family time all month long. In class exploring lots of different inspirations and sensory experiences… marching, drums, wind instruments, brass/bike/cymble bells, community (town/city streets), vehicles from bicycles to fire trucks, penwheels & scarves, maps & pictures of USA (from sea to shining sea), Bear Went Over the ___ . At Home (keep scrolling for what to do at home)….

Look at your Kindermusik books, physical or streamed (can be found on Kindermusik APP & website account when enrolled in a level). Here’s a list from this month (plus a couple of extras) …

Listen to your favorite Kindermusik songs (can be found on Kindermusik app & website although some songs are age/level specific). Here’s a list of some from this month…

•because it’s become a thing in the World Cup- John Denver

Classics like

Musical theatre works like Hamilton, Annie, Ragtime, even Porgy & Bess all have great music about the American experience.

Some pieces that are family friendly include

My Shot : from Hamilton

Tomorrow (reprise): from Annie original motion picture soundtrack 2014

Make Them Hear You : from Ragtime the musical

76 Trombones: from the Music Man

Summertime: from Porgy & Bess

Activity sheets (given in class) (I will be posting some here and on the “where is bear” post in coming days.

Here are some activities to use…

Make your own Parade… push & pull around obstacles, practice Stop & Go, decorate your “vehicle”, dress up for the parade.

Create fireworks with scarves, paint, or even a bag full of orbies (since orbies are a risk for young children, make sure you put them in a sealed bag or bottle for exploration).

Take a trip (real or imagined)…

Pack a bag, pick a vehicle, plan a trip. And of course ask “Where is Bear?” (More ideas on the separate post)

Explore from city to country …

(We’ll explore sea, beach, islands in September)
