Below are just some discussions & links for baby development. In Kindermusik class we provide a place & community for baby & young child development.
Rhythm is the secret ingredient to calming babies. And we're born with it.

You might hear the first-year advice "Talk to your baby" often, but when you converse with them, it's a developmental game-changer. No matter the activity, pause for your child and create a conversational interaction.
Check out what the science says and easy serve and return activities…

Great sleeping tips below! But I always remind parents that when lists like this come out they are generalized and aren’t tailored to your specific situation. Babies, parents, & life is individual (and often messy) so give yourself (and your child) grace in the moment and find what works for you. When they say most babies they are referring to either an average or mean number from overall data NOT that your specific child’s biological and situational abilities & needs. And overall humans are resilient when given support and space. When a study was done on a large group of babies/families with a variety of techniques from attachment to trained sleeping what they found was that as long as there was no obvious abuse or neglect both strategies didn’t seem to harm the child either by giving too much attention OR by giving an opportunity to self sooth. So read the lists but remember that each child’s develop is an individual journey and likely won’t conform to any ridged timeline or pattern… and that’s ok.
