I still am in contact with Kindermusik families from 20, even 30 years ago. When I see posts from old families who friended me on Facebook, I often notice that several families they met in my Kindermusik class have commented on the post.

I also encourage frank but respectful parenting discussions during the classes gathering time or after class. In the baby class we will often take time during the class to briefly discuss topics on parents/caregivers mind. I am often asked about my parenting/ discipline - I’ve lived long enough to know that there isn’t just one ‘right’ way to parent and that there are a variety of ways that can be successful. In fact I personally believe that specific techniques vary depending on each individual child and family… and that’s ok. Of course everyone has beliefs and values and that include me. So I would say my foundation lies in conscious parenting & discipline techniques. (I’ll have several posts that discuss these methods).

Finally, we also share what we know about oir community. Recently I was asked if there were family or kid centered activities for Wurstfest (a NewBraunfels festival that is going on in November). This gave way to a brief discussion in class with several families chiming in on their experiences.
