Books- articles, tips

Updated: Apr 4, 2023

Kindermusik uses books in class & has both physical & digital books to use at home. We also share important tips and info about books & literacy. Here are some from this season...

5 ways to boost early reading : from Kindermuaik International

Our books are linked with our themes & activities, age/level targeted, and most of the time have a song or rhyme that go with the book. These aspects of Kindermusik are really important and increase the book's impact.

From traditional favorites like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Head Shoulder Knees & Toes, Mozart's Majic Flute to Kindermusik originals for home rituals, traveling, play and more. Kindermusik books explore a child's world with the power of music. These books help connect with concepts, senses, inspire play, and story telling.

In class I show & discuss how to use books in different ways for different ages and needs.

First all ages... the traditional song Twinkle Twinke paired with Kindermusik's book. This video talks about paring a book & song

Using sound words (words that also make an object's sound or sound effects which are important for baby's

and older child's development) ...

Seek & find & eye tracking on the page...

Using movements (this is especially helpful for toddlers and active PreK)....

Learning to label things, concepts & even emotions (all ages)...

Learning the parts of stories and inspiring imaginative play and eventually independent story telling (especially important for older PreK)...
