Updated: May 1

May 1- the SCUCISD have canceled classes and closed all facilities due to the flash flood- I follow the city & local ISD emergancy directions so I don’t expect anyone to come to class today. Please follow emergency official directions and your own judgement #turnarounddontdrown turn around don’t drown. It's impossible to know if the 1103 bridges or Wiederstein Road will be UNpassable and although I don't usually close until that happens, I think it's wise to follow the emergancy management officials suggestion to not try to travel in this storm. If anyone does show up, I won’t turn you away, we’ll do inside activities until you feel safe to return home.

April 27- weather is nice and Cibolo classes will go outside & to the meadow. Mud is gone but bugs are out - I do have bug wipes & sprays as well as sun screen if needed.

April23 - Roads are good, meadow is still very wet. I’ll be checking the conditions of the property today. Today, mostly inside activities with some courtyard activities probable.

April 22 - everything is open but very wet. We’ll likely do inside activities only.

April21 6am- many if the roads look to be open. Classes in NewBraunfels will be held today. Please be safe and use your best judgement. We’ll do inside activities only!

April 20th: I will have class on Tuesday & Wednesday UNLESS the schools close or if there are no roads open to the location. In NewBraunfels the Church is on main roads that don’t usually close. There are low water crossings on WiednerRd in Cibolo so the best way to get to the studio is through the subdivision CiboloCrossing off of 1103 (directions in on the link below) or MesaWestern off of GreenValley Rd. I completely understand that families need to do what they feel is best & safest for their particular situation so I know some will choose not to come. Remember you are welcome to come to another day/time/location if needed (please contact me to rsvp).

We usually still have classes when there is weather. Of course there are exceptions so we follow the local school districts usually but also watch for city or road closures. There are a lot of low water crossings #turnarounddontdrown but usually you can get to studio locations using detours (in Cibolo detour through Cibolo Crossing Subdivision). You can find directions for possible detours on websites location page- here is the link to Cibolo’s https://www.discoverymeadowstudio.com/turn-by-turn-directions

When outside activities are planned, studio has alternative inside activities available if weather requires we move inside. When the weather improves but it’s still wet outside then we may stay inside. But we also encourage clothing that will allow for outside comfort… if it’s still wet or muddy think about appropriate footwear (shoes you don’t mind getting dirty or rain boots if you have them; if it’s sunny & hot think about a hat, if it’s cold think about an appropriate jacket.

But no matter the situation, we support parents & caregivers to make the best decisions for their family! Enrolled/registered families just contact us for more information, makeups, rsvp when you need to.
